Shillong, Oct 4: The swearing-in ceremony of Justice Soumen Sen as the new Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court has been scheduled at Raj Bhavan on October 8.
Justice Sen’s appointment as the Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court was made by the President on September 26, 2025, following the recommendation of the Supreme Court collegium. He will assume charge of his office with effect from the date of his swearing-in.
A distinguished jurist, Justice Sen was born on July 27, 1965, in Kolkata. He completed his schooling from St. Lawrence High School and went on to pass the LL.B. examination from the University of Calcutta in 1990, securing the highest mark and standing first in the examination.
