SIDNEY — Billings Central sophomore Colin Jensen and his teammate Caleb Fornshell torched Sidney Country Club on Saturday, helping the Rams' boys golf team take a lead over Corvallis late in the final day of the Class A state tournament.
But the Blue Devils, who had a seven-stroke lead over Billings Central and Polson after the first round, held off the charge to win the program's first state title in history on a cloudy and rainy Saturday in Sidney after a sunny and gorgeous Friday .
Billings Central's girls team won its 12th in program history, good enough for third on the MHSA's all-time record book behind Whitefish and Bozeman's 18, and their second in a row, while Jensen and Livingston senior Anna Lende won the individual crowns.
