CHARDON, Ohio — Fire crews responded to a fire Saturday afternoon at the Chardon Tavern , located on Water St., where a blaze broke out at the rear of the building.
The Chardon Fire Department was dispatched at 12:08 p.m. on Oct. 4. Aid was provided by Hambden, Munson and Concord fire departments. Upon arrival, Chardon crews found an active fire and quickly worked to get the fire put out.
After crews made sure the building was clear, firefighters brought the fire under control.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Geauga County Fire Investigation Unit.
Officials thanked the Kirtland, Concord, Hambden, Munson and Burton fire departments for their assistance in the effort to extinguish the flames.
