BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- This weekend, communities across central Alabama are celebrating and connecting through food, music and culture.

In Birmingham, the 52nd Greek Festival filled the air with the smells of authentic cuisine and the sound of celebration.

“The festival bringing people together, seeing a lot of joy in families, faces, children, having people out in, just enjoying just a wonderful experience," said Teddy Hontzas, Greek Festival Food Director.

Meanwhile, the Barber Vintage Festival is drawing motorcycle fans from around the world.

“It's an amazing event for the state of Alabama, for the city of Birmingham," said Mark Augustyn, Barber Vintage Festival attendee. "I think they estimate 70 to 80,000 people coming out.”
