CABOT, Ark. — An annual community tradition is returning to downtown Cabot next weekend with food, fun, and a bizarre cricket spitting contest.

The 2025 Cabot Fest will take place from October 9 to October 11, 2025, offering attractions for all ages, including live entertainment, carnival rides, vendors, and a Kansas City Barbecue Society-sanctioned cook-off.

“We’re kicking things off Thursday night with a carnival from 6 to 10 p.m.,” said Gina Jones, a representative from the Cabot Chamber of Commerce. “Then Friday night we’re hosting our ‘Bags and Barbecue’ event, with both the barbecue competition and a cornhole tournament. We’re still accepting teams, so head to CabotCC.org if you want to join in.”

Friday evening’s entertainment includes a performance by Jetway from 6 to 9 p.m.
