Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said Naxalites would no longer be able to hinder Bastar’s development after March 31, 2026, asserting that the Centre and the Chhattisgarh Government were determined to completely eradicate Left-wing extremism from the region.
Speaking at the Bastar Dussehra celebrations in Jagdalpur, Shah said he had prayed at the Danteshwari Temple earlier in the day for the security forces to be blessed with the strength to end Naxal violence once and for all.
He ruled out talks with Naxals and said they will have to lay down weapons and accept the government’s “lucrative surrender and rehabilitation policy”.
“Some people in Delhi spread the misconception that Naxalism arose from a struggle for development. In reality, Naxalism itself deprived Bastar of progress,”
