PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - Members of the Western Avenue Greenway Project in Peoria held their annual workday Saturday, getting the independent park ready for fall with the help of Bradley University student athletes.

About 15 players from the Bradley’s women’s softball team came out to help the Greenway Project for the 3rd year in a row.

They spread mulch, cut dead branches, and cleared the area of sticks and trash. The players said that whenever they drive by, they will think of the work they did and the community members they met.
