SEATTLE – Zach McKinstry’s single up the middle in the 11 th inning was the difference as the Tigers edged the Mariners, 3-2, in Game 1 of the American League Division Series at T-Mobile Park on Saturday night.

The Mariners took the lead in the fourth inning on a solo homer by Julio Rodríguez, snapping Seattle’s 24-year home postseason run drought. It marked the Mariners’ first run at T-Mobile Park in a postseason game since Game 2 of the AL Championship Series on Oct. 18, 2001.

The Mariners’ lead didn’t last long.
