COLWICH, Kan. (KAKE) – On Saturday, the community came together to honor Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Deputy Sidnee Carter, nearly three years after she was killed in a crash on October 7, 2022. Investigators said a driver failed to yield at a stop sign at 135th Street and struck Carter’s patrol vehicle on the driver’s side.

Her family hosted the third annual Deputy Sidnee Carter Memorial Fundraiser at The Keg in Colwich, with music, food, and a silent auction. The goal: continue supporting local law enforcement.
