Beverly A. “Bev” Maxfield, 96, of Sioux City, passed away on Sept. 28, 2025.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9 at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel.

Bev was born on Sept. 1, 1929, in Sioux City to R. H. “Rock” and Hazel Maxfield. Bev grew up in the Morningside area of Sioux City. She attended Whittier Elementary School, East Junior High school, and East High School, graduating in June 1947.

Bev began her 45-year career at Iowa Public Service Company (IPS) in September 1947. She retired in September 1992 as Assistant Corporate Secretary. Bev was the first woman to be named an officer of IPS. Following her retirement, Bev joined the Southridge Ladies Golf Club. She becam
