Nevada may have found its quarterback of the future, but it wasn't quite enough to pick up a win in the Pack's conference opener.

Fresno State beat Nevada, 20-17, on Saturday night in Fresno, Calif.

It was the Mountain West opener and third straight loss for the Wolf Pack, which dropped to 1-4 overall, 0-1 conference. The Bulldogs improved to 5-1 overall, 2-0 in conference.

Nevada freshman Carter Jones played the entire second half at quarterback and he ignited two scoring drives, after a lackluster, turnover-laden first half from the Pack.

Nevada committed four turnovers in the first half.

Nevcada football coach Jeff Choate said it was a disjointed half for the offense.
