The Sacramento Zoo unveiled its new naked mole-rat exhibit during a special Naked Mole-Rat Day celebration. The attraction features a 15-member colony designed to mimic their natural underground habitat. Zoo officials said the exhibit took months of in-house planning to accommodate the animals’ unique needs. Families attending the event participated in hands-on activities like building mini “colonies” to learn about the mole-rats’ behaviors and social structures.
