A hopeful benefits claimant has described feeling 'duped' after hearing they do not qualify for Personal Independence Payment (PIP).

They explained how they find it painful to use a pen, struggle to walk more than 30m without discomfort and cannot wash unaided.

A number of 'extremely traumatic experiences' have left them with 'extreme' anxiety.

They also need reasonable adjustments in the workplace, often call in sick due to their health and find it difficult to drive to work.

But the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) scored them zero during an assessment for PIP, which means they will not receive any financial support.

The decision left the applicant so distressed they said they have been unable to stop crying.
