In less than a year, the sounds and smells of sawdust and power tools will be replaced with the aroma of bacon and the rhythm of music, as the new student residence at the Penticton campus of Okanagan College becomes home to dozens of students.
As the $24-million project to build a 101-bed student residence surpasses the halfway point, college administrators invited media and interested parties to tour the facility, which is scheduled to open well ahead of the 2026–27 school year.
For the first time in its history, students at Okanagan College’s Penticton campus will have a place to call home, with access to affordable on-campus housing. In July 2024, the provincial government announced $23.5 million in funding for the project.
