An Air India Boeing 787 flight from Amritsar to Birmingham faced a technical issue when the Ram Air Turbine (RAT) deployed unexpectedly during the final approach, although the plane safely landed, the airline confirmed.

The deployment of the RAT, which occurs during dual engine or hydraulic failure to provide emergency power, prompted the grounding of the aircraft for inspection. Consequently, the Birmingham-Delhi flight was canceled, affecting passenger travel plans.

This incident comes in the backdrop of a tragic Air India crash in June when a Boeing 787 failed disastrously shortly after take-off, sparking an ongoing investigation into potential malfunctions and safety protocols.
