Authorities arrested two individuals, one of whom is a former journalist, in relation to a blackmail and extortion scheme targeting businesses. The suspects, Ram Singh Rajawat and Jitendra Sharma, once linked with Zee Rajasthan, reportedly broadcast negative news stories to coerce payments from targets.

The operation, spearheaded by regional head Ashish Dave, involved the airing of defamatory reports against builders, miners, and other establishments. The channel, after receiving multiple complaints, initiated an inquiry which exposed massive misconduct.

In light of these revelations, significant resignations followed, and legal proceedings were instituted. The ongoing police probe, mandated by the Rajasthan High Court, aims to shed further light on this breach of journalistic ethics.
