To say life has been pretty stressful for most Americans is an understatement.

Climate change, COVID, and all the anxiety produced by the economy have certainly contributed. Now, it has been ramped up by the public killing of Charlie Kirk. His killing brings to mind all the recent politically motivated violence by people on the left and the right.

However, there’s a reason why we’re seeing all this violence and feeling that our nation is on the brink of collapse: our American democracy has died.
