Major Rugby road closed after serious crash near M6

Police closed a major road in Rugby after a serious crash yesterday evening (October 4). Officers responded to the A426 near Churchover.

Part of the A426 and J1 of the M6 were closed off at around 11.15pm and were expected to remain closed this morning (October 5). Police have not yet confirmed whether they have reopened.

Drivers were told to avoid the area and plan their journeys ahead. It is not yet known whether anyone was injured.

A spokesman for Rugby Police said on Saturday: “A426 close to Churchover and J1 of the M6 is closed in both directions following a collision and is likely to remain so for some time.

“Where possible, please avoid the area and take an alternative route as traffic is building. Thank you for your patience.”
