Monsoon in North Bengal 2025: Indian Railways (IR) has regulated the operation of several trains in the Northeast due to heavy rainfall in North Bengal . The affected rail traffic in the region comes under the administrative control of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) zone.
The death toll from floods crossed 14 in North Bengal, especially in the Darjeeling hills. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said there was sudden rainfall exceeding 300 mm in 12 hours in North Bengal, adding that there was simultaneously excessive flow of water into the Sankosh river and river waters from Bhutan and Sikkim.
