Bihar is preparing for its upcoming Assembly elections, with the Election Commission of India actively reviewing the state's election readiness. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar announced several key updates during a press conference.
Voter registration is still open, allowing individuals to register or challenge existing voter lists. Kumar stated, "If a party or a person feels that somebody is not listed or someone is falsely listed, then they can still submit their formal claims for inclusion and exclusion."
The Election Commission has introduced 17 new initiatives aimed at improving the electoral process in Bihar. To enhance clarity at polling booths, the Commission will increase the font size of serial numbers and use coloured photographs of candidates. Kumar emphasized that no more than 1,200 voters will be allowed at each polling station to prevent overcrowding.
The Chief Election Commissioner confirmed that the elections will conclude before November 22, ensuring a timely electoral process. As the state gears up for the elections, these measures aim to facilitate a smooth and efficient voting experience for all citizens.
