Kupwara, Oct 05: A female leopard was captured alive by the Wildlife Department in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Police in Ashpora village of Qaziabad, north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, on Sunday morning. The successful operation prevented any harm to locals or the animal.
According to locals, the leopard had been seen roaming in the area early in the morning, causing panic among villagers. “We spotted the leopard moving close to the fields and immediately informed the Wildlife Department,” said local resident Mudasir Bashir. “Their team reached within a short time and managed to capture the animal safely.”
