Donald Trump has sent his son-in-law and a senior envoy to Egypt to start ceasefire negotiations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the White House has said.
Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff will be tasked with agreeing the technical details of a hostage release and a lasting ceasefire deal two years on from the
7 October attack.
