The most recent instalment of Have I Got News for You has been swiftly pulled from BBC iPlayer following a major blunder by host Victoria Coren Mitchell concerning Labour's proposed digital ID card system. ‌

The Only Connect presenter fronted Friday evening's programme (October 3), with guests Sheila Hancock, Miles Jupp, Ian Hislop and Paul Merton taking their places on the panel. ‌

During one particular round, Victoria quizzed the teams about who would gain from Keir Starmer's choice to roll out the ID system , before informing them: "I was thinking of the company Multiverse, who has been chosen to run the digital ID cards scheme." ‌
