The new season -- its 51st, to be exact -- of the sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live kicked off on Saturday, with singer and actor Bad Bunny stepping in as host, with Doja Cat as musical guest. The Happy Gilmore 2 star has been having a big stretch with his second hosting gig at SNL and being announced as the halftime performer for this year's Super Bowl.

Bad Bunny played into the recent discussion around his selection to headline the Super Bowl, speaking in his native Spanish during his opening monologue. After finishing his statement, Bad Bunny paused before saying, "If you didn't understand what I just said, you have 4 months to learn." The crowd loved it, cheering and laughing loudly as he introduced the show.

Next week, former SNL star Amy Poehler returns with musical guest Role Model. On October 18, pop star Sabrina Carpenter takes on both hosting and musical duties.
