Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Police on Sunday said to have arrested two drug peddlers in Kupwara and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A Spokesperson said that a police party of PS Kupwara during naka checking at Gonipora Crossing intercepted a suspicious person. During search, a substantial quantity of charas-like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Zameer Ahmad Doom son of Ghulam Ahmad Doom resident of Kupwara. Preliminary investigation revealed that the individual was involved in illicit drug trafficking activities in the area.

Similarly, during naka checking at Greerhachi, Kupwara, a police party intercepted a suspicious person who was coming from Lolab towards Kupwara. Duri
