A high-octane action drama tops the DVD releases for the week of Oct. 7.
“F1: The Movie”: A seasoned racing veteran (Brad Pitt) joins a failing U.K. F1 racing team with a hotshot young driver (Damson Idris) in director Joseph Kosinski’s (“Top Gun: Maverick”) box-office hit.
“Despite its skids and dents … ‘F1’ is an extremely engaging affair, an action movie that, despite being about two-and-a-half-hours long, whizzes by with the speed of one of the racers it celebrates,” writes Mark Meszoros of The News-Herald in his review. “With the help of other ‘Maverick’ collaborators such as cinematographer Claudio Miranda, Kosinski has crafted a visceral experience that grabs you and maintains a tight grip.”
