New Delhi: The ongoing clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 has been marred by a toss controversy. Pakistan captain Fatima Sana won the toss and got to decide despite having made the wrong call. A video of the match referee’s major blunder at the toss has gone viral on social media, sparking outrage.

As the two captains – India’s Harmanpreet Kaur and Pakistan’s Sana walked for the toss ahead of the mega clash between the two sides at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, the Indian skipper spun the coin while the Pakistan captain made the call. Fatima ended up winning the toss and opted to bowl first in the game.

However, match referee Shande Fritz, ended up making a huge goof-up at the toss as she misheard Fatima’s call and gave her the choice
