Randi Weingarten’s rancid politics: Letters

The Issue: Miranda Devine’s criticism of AFT President Randi Weingarten’s focus on leftist politics.

American Federation of Teachers chief Randi Weingarten is so far left she’ll never get it right ( “Randi puts lefty politics over kids,” Miranda Devine, Oct. 2).

That she is a leader in America’s public-school system is an outrage. During the pandemic, her priority was always the teachers and never the children. Her resumé indicates that she needs to be left back.

I don’t understand why we don’t hold the American Federation of Teachers responsible for student scores dropping in math, reading and other basic skills. These scores are getting worse each year, and no politician has really addressed this issue.
