Bhubaneswar: In the wake of a violent clash during Goddess Durga idol immersion in Cuttack, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday expressed sorrow over the incident and appealed to people to maintain peace and order.
Describing Cuttack as a thousand-year-old city, the Chief Minister said the millennium city is a unique example of brotherhood. However, due to some troublemakers, peace has been disturbed in the city and the life of the common people is being disrupted in last few days, he said in a statement. ADVERTISEMENT
The Chief Minister further stated that the government is keeping an eye on such troublemakers and strict action will be taken against them as per the law.
