The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) today canceled four trains, partially cancelled 3 and diverted nine passenger trains after heavy rain battered the railway tracks in north Bengal, officials said.

The cancelled trains were New Jalpaiguri-Alipurduar-New Jalpaiguri, Dhubri-Siliguri, Siliguri-Banarhat Exp, and Siliguri Junction to New Bongaigaon.

The diverted trains are Alipurduar Jn to Delhi, Kamakhya-Dr Ambedkar Nagar, Sairang-Khagaria, Amritsar- New Tinsukia, Anand Vihar Terminal-Kamakhya, Delhi-Alipurduar Jn, Alipurduar Jn – Siliguri, and sealdah-Alipurduar Jn.

Three other trains in this part were also partially cancelled, the NFR said.

The NFR also suspended the heritage train Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, popularly called the Toy Train for an indefinite period.
