A tropical wave that we’ve been tracking for about a week has now been tagged Invest-95 by the National Hurricane Center. That means that we are now able to run computer models.

For now, the system is in the open Atlantic, several hundred miles from the Cabo Verde islands, but is working toward the Caribbean islands.

A tropical depression is likely to form by midweek as it moves quickly across the central tropical Atlantic.

Invest 95-L update with WESH 2's Meteorologist Eric Burris

As of the 11 p.m. update, Invest 95 has a 50% chance of forming over the next two days and a 70% chance of forming over the next seven days.
