Seven Republican candidates for Alaska governor spelled out some of their views during one of the first forums on Thursday in Fairbanks. The forum, hosted by the Alaska Support Alliance, was part of the annual Fairbanks Industry Update Forum at the Wedgewood Resort.

Participating candidates include former Fairbanks state Sen. Click Bishop, Lt. Gov. Nancy Dahlstrom, Palmer state Sen. Shelley Hughes, Anchorage podiatrist Dr. Matt Heilala, Anchorage businesswoman Bernadette Wilson, former revenue commissioner Adam Crum and former Anchorage Mayor Dave Bronson.

Questions focused on resource development, infrastructure, the state budget, candidates’ opinions on ranked choice voting and Ballot Measure 1, which raised the minimum wage and implemented sick leave requirements for businesses.
