A Lake County Sheriff’s deputy was injured after a collision involving a suspected drunk driver in suburban Ingleside Saturday.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy was driving a squad car westbound on Route 134 at approximately 3:25 p.m. Saturday when he approached Main Street.
As he approached the intersection, a BMW SUV, driven by a 45-year-old Roselle resident, was driving on Main Street and attempted to perform a U-turn by pulling onto Route 134, directly in the path of the deputy’s car.
The resulting collision then pushed the squad car into a Chevrolet pick-up truck that was sitting at the intersection, police said.
