THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There has long been a complaint that Kerala lags behind other states in terms of connectivity to airports. However, with the latest plan by the National Highways Authority, travel access to two airports in the state is set to improve. Of the five new roads proposed to be built in Kerala, two will lead directly to airports.

The new roads will connect to Kannur and Karipur airports. Based on the request from the state government, the initial steps have begun for the construction of five new highways. The National Highways Authority has officially informed the state government about this. The roads from Ramanattukara to Karipur Airport and from Kannur city to Mattannur Airport will be developed.
