Secondhand shopping is looking to be a $79 billion industry by 2029 according to a report by ThreadUp, as more people look to save a buck and stay fashionable.

Experts say the exponential rise of thrift shopping is due in part by rising costs due to tariffs and other economic factors.

In addition to saving money and reducing waste, for many shoppers, it's about filing their closet with one-of-a-kind finds.

Katie Bergman of Colorado has made it her business; Updating clients' wardrobes as a thrift personal shopper.

"People will clean out their closets and things over the weekends, and so you will get lots of great things that people have cleaned out, and they're usually put on the racks earlier in the week," she said.
