The Clock Tower area and its surroundings received a major cleanliness drive on Sunday with multiple volunteer teams taking up different tasks under the Swachh Mangaluru campaign.

Launching the October edition of the drive, Swami Vidyamrutananda of Ramakrishna Mission Sarada Peeth, Kolkata, said the Swachh Mangaluru Abhiyan of Ramakrishna Mission has gained recognition even in West Bengal, where it is being emulated in several places.

A team led by Captain Ganesh Karnik, along with Krishna Bhavan Auto Park president Naveen Kumar, secretary Ashok Subbiah, and members Rajendra, Purushottam, Rupesh, Anand Kulal, Shivaram, and Satyanarayana K.V., cleaned the Clock Tower circle and the footpath near Mini Vidhana Soudha.
