ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A former west Georgia mayor recently convicted for his role in a deadly crash while he was a state trooper is asking for a new trial.
Anthony “A.J.” Scott, ex-mayor of Buchanan, filed the request in Carroll County court on Wednesday, the same day he was sentenced to serve 20 years — 10 in prison and 10 on probation. The motion claims the verdict is “contrary to the evidence.”
