The Brisbane fullback didn’t put a foot wrong, as his Clive Churchill Medal-winning heroics masterminded a 26-22 defeat of the Melbourne Storm.

Walsh produced the typical highlight moments. His breathtaking solo try running off first receiver on last play to bust through several defenders was magic.

Even for his teammates he was electric, throwing the final pass for Deine Mariner’s match opener, and setting up tries for Gehamat Shibasaki and Mariner again to secure the Broncos’ first title since 2006.
