Agartala, 5 th October 2025 : Residents of Madhupur under the Kamalasagar assembly constituency have raised serious concerns over alleged political favoritism and misuse of power by local police officials. The controversy erupted following an incident involving Dipak Debnath, a local auto driver from Adarsha Colony, who was reportedly harassed by police despite possessing valid documents for his vehicle.

On Sunday morning around 10 AM, Debnath was operating his auto-rickshaw (registration number TR074428) along his usual route through Madhupur, Kamalasagar, and Rashtarmatha. Upon reaching Anand Chowmuhani, he was stopped by Madhupur police conducting routine vehicle checks. Although Debnath presented all necessary papers, officers claimed the documents were not visible
