Jimmy Thelin at last saw Premiership lift-off as his Aberdeen side finally hit the goal trail to dump Dundee. ‌

The Scottish Cup winners hadn’t scored a goal or won a game in the league this season. Those statistics were smashed after a clinical one-way display at Pittodrie. ‌

A Jesper Karlsson double and first goals in red for Adil Aouchiche and Emmanuel Gyamfi did the damage against the Dark Blues in a 4-0 victory. ‌

For Dundee , it was an afternoon to forget. Dundee’s last win at Pittodrie in the league came back in May, 2004.

It had been 16 games without a win in the Granite City and always looked like it was going to 17. Aberdeen took the feel-good factor from their spirited Conference League display against Shakhtar Donetsk and built on it.
