METAIRIE, La. —

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly crash that happened Sunday morning in Metairie.

According to Sheriff Joseph Lopinto, deputies responded to a report of a single-car crash around 6 a.m. on Veterans Boulevard near Neyrey Drive. Advertisement

When they arrived, they located a white two-door car occupied by a man suffering from crash-related injuries.

The man was transported to a local hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

Initial investigation indicated that the car was traveling east on Veterans Boulevard, when it hit multiple curbs before coming to rest on the median against a tree.

JPSO said toxicology results are pending.
