NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - President Donald Trump is in Norfolk Sunday to host a Salute to the Fleet, honoring Navy servicemembers as part of its 250th birthday celebrations.

Trump will be joined by First Lady Melania Trump, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Secretary of the Navy John Phelan, as he is set to give remarks at 3:30 p.m.

Before the president's remarks, the president and first lady will observe a Naval Sea Power, the USS George H.W. Bush, starting at 1 p.m.

The event was initially scheduled for Oct 3., but was moved to Sunday due to weather conditions and "unsafe sea states."
