Cuttack: A violent clash broke out between police and protesters at Dargha Bazaar in Cuttack on Sunday, leaving several police officials and some media personnel injured. The confrontation occurred during a protest linked to the Durga idol immersion procession held late on October 3, resulting in heightened tensions in the city.

According to reports, police resorted to lathi-charge to disperse demonstrators who were advancing despite orders to halt. Among the injured were DCP Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo and the In-Charge of Dargah Bazaar police station, along with over six other police personnel. Several members of the media were also reportedly hurt during the unrest.
