OBC Jan Morcha chief Prakash Shendge, who won the Sangli Lok Sabha seat on a BJP ticket in 2009 and later contested on an NCP ticket in 2014, has emerged as one of the most vocal critics of the Maharashtra government’s move to allow Marathas to obtain Kunbi (OBC) certificates. In an interview with The Indian Express, he explains why he believes the GR (Government Resolution) is unconstitutional and how it has fractured social harmony across the state.
