In January 2023, Randeep Hooda, along with director Syed Ahmad Afzal, formally announced the second part of his 2016 film Laal Rang, titled Laal Rang 2. However, since then, there has been no major update about the project. Now, the actor has revealed the reason behind the delay.

When questioned about the delay, Randeep told HT City, “It is one of my favourite movies as well. I would love to do that film, but not in a half-hearted way, neither like the shambles in which we shot the first part. We are looking for proper partners to come on board with us and do justice to the first part, which is nothing less than a cult."
