A man who admitted to having weapons on him when police stopped him in Orange at 3am has been sentenced for possessing a tomahawk and a pigging knife.

Anthony Tree of Leumeah Road, Orange, pleaded guilty to two charges of having an offensive implement in a public place and was sentenced in Orange Local Court on Thursday, September 25, 2025.

According to court documents, police were patrolling the Bowen area of Orange at about 3am on July 16, 2025, when they saw 33-year-old Tree and a woman walking along Amaroo Crescent.

"Just so you know, I've got weapons on me," Tree said when the police stopped and spoke to him.

The police then searched him and found a tomahawk and a large pigging knife.

Tree was cautioned and questioned in relation to the items.

He said he carried the weapons
