GALVESTON, Texas (KIAH) -- A mother says she's furious with a Galveston school after her son with special needs was left inside a locked classroom for hours after class.
Sierra Waire-Minix says she called Weiss Middle School in Galveston on Thursday when her 10-year-old son, Drew, didn't come home on the bus.
Waire-Minix said that Drew needs special accommodation in the classroom because of what she says are intellectual disabilities.
After making several calls to the school, Waire-Minix said she was told by the assistant principal that her son was found asleep inside a locked classroom by himself.
She also said that no one at the school was able to tell her why Drew was left in the classroom.
