Ariel "Apache" Moreno, Jr. has been a staple in the Borderland boxing community, but on Saturday, Oct. 11, he makes his U.S. debut when he fights at Southwest University Park in Downtown El Paso.

The 10-1-1 Moreno, who fights at 122 pounds has all fought 12 of his fights in Mexico, many of which haven been in Juárez.

"I'm excited, I'm realy looking forward to fighting in the United States," Moreno said. "I'm still growing as a fighter. I didn't start boxing until my late teens, but I'm excited for the future. Fighting in front of the El Paso fans is a big opportunity, there are lots of great boxing fans here."

The 25-year-old Moreno now lives and trains in El Paso under the guidance of El Paso trainer Lou Anello and will face fellow Texan, Joshua Montoya of Lubbock, who carries a 7-4-
