(WNDU) - The Notre Dame Fighting Irish moved up five spots while the Indiana Hoosiers moved up one spot in the latest Associated Press Top 25 college football poll .

The Irish (3-2) jumped from No. 21 to No. 16 after beating Boise State 28-7 while the Hoosiers (5-0) moved up from No. 8 to No. 7 after a bye week.

As for other regional teams in the poll, Michigan moved up five spots from No. 20 to No. 15 after beating Wisconsin 24-10.

Penn State and Texas fell all the way out of the Top 25 after the two top 10 teams suffered surprising losses to unranked opponents.

NEWCOMERS : Memphis (No. 23) and South Florida (No. 24)

DROPPED OUT : Penn State (No. 7) and Texas (No. 9)

BIGGEST JUMP : Missouri, Michigan, Notre Dame, Illinois, BYU and Virginia (five spots)
