Strictly Come Dancing fans raced to social media just moments into the first results show on Sunday night to complain that "it feels so wrong" after noticing a format change.

Although the hit BBC competition show officially launched on September 20, the first results show and eviction took place this weekend on Sunday, October 5.

Ahead of the show former Love Island winner Amber Davies topped the Strictly leaderboard, after scoring 29 for her samba to Bam Bam by Ed Sheeran and Camila Cabello with her professional partner Nikita Kuzmin.

At risk of facing Sunday’s dance-off was ITV reporter Ross King and dancer Jowita Przystal, who scored 15 for their waltz to Sunshine On Leith by The Proclaimers.
